Lindsay Weiner is the founder of The EQ Child, LLC. An experienced teacher, she taught a range of ages from pre-K to upper elementary, Lindsay is passionate about a Whole Child approach to education and the importance of teaching social emotional skills in schools today. She emphasizes the importance of Educator SEL, a commitment to the elevation of school-wide SEL practices and family engagement. She is also passionate about children's literature and storytelling as a platform to discuss social-emotional development.
Lindsay served as a family advocate for Yale University's Center for Emotional Intelligence RULER program within Westport Schools and played an integral role in extending the RULER philosophy to the broader Westport community. She helped to present her approach at the CASEL Conference in 2019. She is also co-founder of Westport Rocks, an initiative that is based on the Kindness Rocks movement and helps build and strengthen community. As part of her role, she has helped integrate the Westport Rocks initiative into local classrooms, empowering children to respond to broader community needs.
Lindsay is also a Board Member of Girls on the Run in Connecticut, an organization that is committed to the social emotional development of girls through a research based curriculum that empowers girls through running. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan and holds Master’s degrees in education from New York University and Bank Street College. She lives with her family in Connecticut.
