At The EQ Child, we believe that:
Social emotional learning (SEL) as defined by the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL) helps build the foundation of emotional intelligence
SEL skills can be both explicitly taught as well as integrated effectively into academic content
The principles of SEL are most effective when schools, families, and community organizations work together.
"Emotional intelligence begins to develop in the earliest years. All the small exchanges children have with their parents, teachers, and with each other carry emotional messages."
